At the northern end of town is the Tirau i-SITE Visitor Centre (The big dog), with it's decorated walls and lead light window. Alongside is the large corrugated Big Sheep Wool Gallery.
The rest of Tirau's specialty shops are all within walking distance.
These include: Cafe's, Art, Furniture, Crafts, Clocks, Clothes, Books, Teddybears, Restaurants, Wines, Light Shades, Jewellery, Saddlery, Honey, Ice-creams, Gifts and Collectables.
At the other end of town is the "The Castle Pamela" with a toy museum, and tearooms.
Look out for all the Corrugated Iron Art as you walk around the Town.

Waikato River Trail
The first part of the trail which runs from Arapuni Dam to Jones landing is 3km in length offering many spectacular views. Walkers should allow approximately 1 hour 20 minutes each way to appreciate the scenery. For more information visit www.waikatorivertrail.com
